Regal Cinema is one of the oldest cinemas of Mumbai. Regal Cinema is located in the central Colaba
30s was surge time of Indian cinemas, because that time several fine cinemas came into existence. Regal came into existent at that time. Apart from this, Plaza Central, New Empire, Broadway, Eros and Metro Adlabs opened were built as well.

The regal cinema was built in 1933. The model and design was given by Charles Stevens, the son of the prominent 19th century architect, F. W. Stevens. Czech artist designed its interior and it was decorated with heavy glasses. Cinema’s chief auditorium contains a motif of sunrays in pale orange and jade green. The main purpose of design of Its interiors were to generate an impression of airiness, coolness and size in harmony with the modern simplicity of the exteriors. Regal was started completely in reinforced cement concrete (RCC), complete air conditioned, and had an underground parking lot for patrons. |

Keeping its original theme and charm it has gone some changes recently with dark wood interiors and satin furnishings. General y, Hindi and English movies are played in this cinema. |
