Mumbai is the big city of India and the location of the city makes it very special, because the city is surrounded by the worth seeing places therefore the tourist of all around the world always prefer Mumbai. One side of the Mumbai is a huge Arabian sea and the other side of the Mumbai is mountains. There are lots of gardens in the Mumbai which enhance the beauty of Mumbai and keep the nature clean. There are so many gardens that provide the fresh air and comfort to the people of Mumbai when they visit these gardens.
Background and Location
The background of the garden and how it made is a very interesting story. In 18th century, there was an area that is called as Bombay greens, the area is full of concrete buildings, and it is also known as Elephantine circle, the governor of that time. The area became a landfill of coconut shells and garbage by the year 1842. At that time the police commissioner of that time present the idea that the place is renovate the greens into the circle and bounded by the buildings. In 1869 the renovation work was started and completed in 1872. The garden is located at fort district south Mumbai.
Attraction
The garden looks very beautiful amidst the huge building and look like a big flower. The park is spread in the area of 10,101 sq m. the garden is landmark of the city because it is beautifully maintained. The Asiatic society of the Bombay designed the park on the lines of the famous crescent park of London. The park has well maintained walkways along with the rows of trees and a small park with neo classical porch that enhances the beauty of the park.
The garden is full of flowers that are rare species, so it looks very awesome to one’s eye and attract the attention of everybody towards itself. There is a fountain in the heart of the garden and after sometime that is changed with a modern piece of art that is ornamented with the deco iron pipes. The greenery of the park gives the soothing effect on the hard nerves after the long day of work; therefore, in the evening the park is full of visitors who come over here to rest there sense and nerves. The children also like this park because here they enjoy all type of outdoor games.
